It was written in the '80s by Rita Ash, who by coincidence, I've just spoken to!!
I've been looking for a piece of machinery and was given the number of someone in Devon who's husband Alan makes bespoke cheese equipment - this turned out to be Rita!
Since that initial phone call Alan has built me a number of bespoke items, including this:

Hi Carl, just been looking at your Curd Mill, Alan made me one just the same as yours, i have been using it now for some time and is very good, although i do find when grinding up the curd it doesn't grind it evenly, as to say there are large and small pieces.
I am in the process of looking for a small electric one, when you are grinding up 100kg day by hand it gets just a bit heavy on the old arms.
